Interior of an Inn
Commission for Barber Home by The Barber Institute. A series of drawings in response to 'Interior of an Inn', an etching by Charles-Francois Daubigny made in 1861, part of the Barber's works on paper collection.
Particularly taken by the play of light and shadow in the original print, these ink drawings on translucent paper explore the domestic landscape of home. These drawings make visible moments of familiarity and comfort, but also show a strangeness and insecurity we may currently find in these spaces. The drawings can be viewed or downloaded here.
Further information about the commission and and interview can be read here.
